Glen Pitcher

Sensei Glen Pitcher Pitcher is the current head of Chokushin Aiki-Jujutsu in Canada and the founder of the Goshinkan organization and the co-founder of Musubi Dojo.

On Saturday July 6th 2015 Shihan Al Evans bestowed upon Sensei Glen Pitcher the rank of Kaiden (10th Dan). In a ceremonial passing of the torch Shihan Evans passed on his Red Belt to Sensei Glen Pitcher now making Sensei Pitcher the current head of Chokushin Aiki-Jujutsu. Sensei Pitcher has committed to continuing the growth and development of Chokushin as Shihan Evans (and his Sensei) had envisioned it. Sensei Pitcher has also been ranked 5th Dan by the Canadian Jujutsu Council Grading Board headed and chaired by Shihan Rob Walther.

Sensei Pitcher began training in the martial arts in 1980 at the age of 10, starting with Karate and then Judo as well. In 1987 he began studying Ninjutsu before finally finding Aiki-Jujutsu. After achieving his Black Belt (Shodan) in 1999 he co-founded Musubi Dojo with Sensei Chris Luttrell.

Sensei Pitcher also holds a Brown Belt (1st Kyu) in Kodokan Judo under Sensei Jim Walker 6th Dan, a Brown Belt (1st Kyu) in Kenpo Karate under Roy Dixon 2nd Dan and a Blue Belt (2nd Kyu) in Togakure Ryu Ninjutsu under Frank Hill 10th Dan of the Mystic Mountain Martial Arts Dojo.

Sensei Pitcher is a former Defensive Tactics Instructor for the Ministry of Correctional Services and is certified to instruct ASP Expandable Baton, PPCT Straight and Expandable Baton, Rapid Rotation Baton, Pressure Point Control Tactics, Empty Hand Defensive Tactics, Tactical Ground Control, as well as several methods of Handcuffing (Bob Koga method, PPCT, FBI, Speed cuffing etc.). Sensei Pitcher is also a qualified Defensive Pistol Instructor with CSSA (Canadian Sport Shooting Association) and IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association). While working in Corrections Sensei Pitcher was the Team Leader of the Whitby Jails Tactical Units I.C.I.T (Institutional Crisis Intervention Team) and C.E.T. ( Cell Extraction Team ). In 2002 Sensei Pitcher began a career in Nuclear Security and since then has been involved in teaching all of the above-mentioned skills to nuclear security staff of his current service.

Sensei Pitcher has provided both Martial Arts and Defensive Tactics training to Corrections, Police, Military and Security personnel. He has put together and taught programs for the Canadian Armed Forces as well as local area High Schools.
